Could not find a way to contact people to find out about my prior appliction.  I am getting updated VITA information, but no one has contacted me yet as to where I should report for training, or when the training starts.  Very frustrating!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.  If you signed up through the vita-volunteers.org website, your information was forwarded to VITA HQ for action and you would have heard from them.  I don’t know where you are located, so I cannot pursue it any further, but if you fill in the online signup form again, it will go to VITA HQ again for action.  Hope you get a better response soon – it would be a loss to the VITA program to lose interested volunteers like yourself

It explains how the VITA program help me to complete the training. It also identify which group of people (low income and senior people) and the range of service will be serviced. I believe that I have enough knowledge and ability to serve them.

Having trouble getting to the practice lab and getting started on the training for a vita volunteer.

Thank you for taking the time to provide the detailed feedback.  The fact that you came from a bookmark or a favorities link and the high overall satisfaction desite not completing your purpose indicates that at some time in the past you found the site helpful and useful.  As far as the problem of getting started on the practice lab is concerned, I will try to provide additional guidance on what to do.  However, the nature of the IRS sponsored site is such that although the password for logging in is commonly available from a SPEC relationship manager, it is not directly provided on any IRS documents, so you will get stuck part way through the process.

Thank you for taking the time to fill in the feedback.  I am sorry you could not complete the purpose of learning about volunteer opportunities.  I commend you on your willingness to volunteer, and sympathize with you.  I started this website to reduce for other volunteers the frustration I felt when I tried to volunteer.  As I mentioned before, since I do not get a definitive uptodate information for sites outside of Santa Clara County, there is little else I can do than to point you to information sources that should be able to help you.  Remember that the IRS is the definitive source of all information regarding VITA.

I am sorry you were unable to learn about volunteer opportunities, and that you saw no way of moving forward with your purpose.  Unfortunately, I am in Santa Clara County where I obtain my information on volunteer opportunities in Santa Clara County for VITA.  Not having comprehensive information on the rest of the country, there is no way of putting this information on the website, so the next best thing I try to do is to provide information that will guide you to the information source.  Remember that irs.gov is the definitive source of all information.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback.  Could it be the link you were using was corrupted in the email?  I realize there is nothing on the home page that talks about taking the test online; the “Link and Learn” link will get you to the online training.  If you take the in class training, you will probably be provided the link to take the test online.  If you go through the link and learn website, it will eventually get you to the online test site.  However, unless you have been in contact with a site coordinator or a SPEC Relationship manager, you will not have the password to access the online test site….

Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback.  I am sorry you got the survey before you could visit the site – the first query is whether or not you will provide the software, and if you said YES you are requested to fill it up after leaving the website.  The survey form should have been in a pop-under, but in your case it appears that the pop under may have become a pop up before its time.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.  When you say “it was a pop up”, I assume you mean the pop-up asking if you were interested in providing feeback of your experience.  If you had chosen “NO”, you would have proceeded on to the site.  If you had chosen “YES”, you would have proceeded onto the site, and the survey form should have been a pop-under as described in the pop up screen.  Is it possible that you may have filled the survey form before you went onto the web site.
