Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.  I regret you were unable to complete the purpose of your visit which was looking to get training to become a VITA Tax Preparer.   The training is provided through the IRS, the State Income Authorities, and others that are geared up for the training.  The purpose of this site is to direct you to those sources.  The level and quality of training to become a VITA tax preparer varies from place to place and even with the same city.  One possibility for you is the Link and Learn site, which is not yet up for the 2009 Tax Year, but will be available later on in the year.  If there are some other specific things you would like to see, please leave your remarks in the Comment section of this posting.

Thanks for the feedback.  I am glad at least two of you found the information useful.  Unfortunately, until the complete list of locations is provided to the webmaster, there is little else that can be done other than suggest ways of getting the information you need.

It is not clear what webinars you were looking for.  There are some for train the trainers and others for site coordinators, but the webmaster is unaware of any given to the general public for tax preparers.  Sorry the site could not be of more help.

Two sample 20 hours apart, both looking to learn about volunteer opportunities: one visitor found the information about volunteering valuable, and the other found the site construction uncomfortable to use and unable to complete the purpose of the visit.

Since the purpose of the site is to be useful, I regret that visitor at 23:36 could not find the required information.  It would be helpful to get more specifics on what was difficult to use, and any suggestions for improvements for future visitors.

Comments on Feedback

As webmaster of http://www.vita-volunteers.org it is heartening to receive the feedback on the surveys.  It is nice to hear that the site has helped some visitors.  If the site has not helped, it was useful to bring to the attention of the webmaster as areas to be covered in the future.

There are several categories of comments, which will be addressed generally:
1) The survey popped up before the site could be visited.
2) The site is not user friendly.
3) Site location information is focused on Santa Clara County and California rather than all the states in the U.S.
4) The site does not provide answers to tax questions.
5) Contact information for the particular problem is not available.
6) Requirements and steps to become a volunteer are not clearly spelt out.
7) The site does not look pretty or professional.

As you can see, within a period of 48 hours you had entirely different opinions about the site.  Visitor 17:04 could not find locations and felt the site is not user friendly, while Visitor 17:08 was successful in learning about volunteer opportunities and felt the site was Easy to Navigate.

It may be of value to explain that the information of locations and volunteer opportunities are geared towards Santa Clara County because that is where the webmaster is located.  However, if information from other sites are available to be put on the site, the webmaster will be glad to do so.

Visitor 17:04, please add details of what you think would make it user friendly for you.

Sorry you could not complete the purpose of your visit. It is hard to find out what info you are looking for and if the information is there or should be there.  As far as ads go, there are mixed reactions – some readers have found that ads actually help them find what they are looking for.
